ELLIOT LAKE, Ont. – C.J. Bradburn’s second goal of the game, coming 35 seconds into overtime, was the difference as the Timmins Rock defeated the Elliot Lake Wildcats 3-2 in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action Saturday at Centennial Arena.
Timmins got off to a good start as well in the contest grabbing 2-0 first period lead on tallies from Bradburn and Tyler Gilberds.
Elliot Lake cut into the deficit with 37 seconds left in the opening frame thanks to Mark Perone’s first NOJHL marker.
It stayed 2-1 Rock through a scoreless middle stanza and well into the final frame before William Bucsis forced extra time for the Wildcats as he tied it with 3:51 remaining in regulation on his 12th tally of the season.
However, it was Bradburn who won it for Timmins early in OT as his second of the night and ninth overall gave the visitors the victory.
Jordan Picard doled out two assists for the Rock for a second consecutive game to aid his club’s cause.
Eric Jackson made 27 saves in net for Timmins to record the win while Logan Sawka helped Elliot Lake pick-up a point with a 34-save effort.
