When it comes to home game attendance, the Wildcat fans are #1 in the league drawing on average 572 fans every Friday night.
Based on our first 6 home games, we have seen almost 3,500 fans come out to cheer on their new team. The home opener drew 802 fans who cheered the Wildcats to victory against another new team in the league- the Mattawa Blackhawks.
The Wildcats Organization has been hard at work to provide fans an exciting night out at each of our home games which includes having a game night sponsor. The game night sponsors provide awesome shoot-out prizes that 3 lucky fans compete for after the 2nd period intermission. Prizes such as Wildcat merchandise, gift cards and even cash have been given out to date.
Our ‘Pink in the Rink’ game that took place last Friday, which was a tribute to breast cancer awareness month, drew almost 700 fans. This event was not only a special night for the community but was a way for our organization to give back as we have been given so much along the way.
The community fought long and hard to keep a Jr. A team in Elliot Lake and have stepped forward to show their community spirit by filling the barn every Friday night and cheering their boys on.
We want to thank our wonderful fans who have supported us every step along the way. We also want to give a special shout-out to those who travel all the way to Elliot Lake to catch the games on Friday night! We wouldn’t be here without the fans, and I think our boys will agree that it’s the fans that help keep spirits high even during tough games.
Friday nights are the Wildcats’ home games, so make sure you clear your schedule from 7:30-10pm to cheer on your boys. The official Wildcats game schedule can be seen here: http://www.elliotlakewildcats.com/schedule/team_instance/841470?mirror_id=1442896&subseason=163890.
I think it’s safe to say that not only do we have the best fans in the league, but we have the loudest, too.
