MASSEY, Ont. – Friday night Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at the Massey & District Community Arena saw the Elliot Lake Vikings and Iroquois Falls Storm skate to a 4-4 overtime draw.

An opportunistic bounce off the end boards via a dump in from the left point saw the puck skip out front where the Storm’s Landon Trethewey was there to stuff in his 10th goal of the season.

Iroquois Falls then went ahead by a pair at 13:05 as Jaden Lyons jammed in a rebound on Elliot Lake netminder Noah Davis from the right side.

The Vikings made it 2-1 late in the opening frame when Kaiden Emond won a draw back to Allan Watt who snapped a shot through traffic that found its way past a screened Justin Sullivan.

Drawing even a minute into the second stanza, Ivan Kendrov clicked on a power play by blasting in a crisp cross-ice pass from Austin Montgomery-Parsons.

Retaking the lead with four minutes remaining in the period, Carter Jamieson tipped in a shot from the point from John Adylis, who picked up his initial NOJHL point with the assist.

Action in the third period saw another early Elliot Lake effort knot the affair once more thanks to Mongomery-Parsons, who slammed in the tying tally into an open side of the net.

Up a skater after that, Alexandre St. Pierre knocked in a backhand during a goalmouth to put the Storm back in front.

Coming back to force extra time, the Vikings’ Dean Crouch darted down the left wing a roofed a short-side sizzler on Sullivan with two and a half minutes left in regulation for his first NOJHL goal.

In OT, neither side would score in the seven-minute session, with the teams skating away with a point apiece in the tie game.

The outcome moves Iroquois Falls record to 9-16-1-1 while Elliot Lake goes to 6-17-1-0.
