TIMMINS, Ont. – Timmins Rock defenceman Luka Bolduc scored his first three Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League goals while goaltender Tyler Masternak posted his NOJHL-best fifth shutout Saturday afternoon in a 5-0 victory over the Elliot Lake Wildcats at McIntyre Arena.
Action in the opening frame saw the Rock get on the board 13 minutes into the contest as Bolduc collected his first NOJHL marker.
Moving on to the middle stanza, it was more Bolduc as he added his second of the afternoon at 15:09 during a man advantage opportunity.
The home side tacked on one more before the frame was complete with Keegan McMullen picking up his fourth in the latter stages of the session.
Timmins then put the game away in the third as A.J. Campbell added some insurance before Bolduc finished off his hat trick with a power play tally at 13:17 to round out the day’s scoring.
As for Masternak, he handled all 17 shots fired his way to extend his NOJHL-leading shutout total to five with the triumph.
Josh Dickson and Eric Moreau chipped in offensively with two assists apiece for the Rock.
Wildcats netminder Justin Vertesi made 43 stops in defeat for the Wildcats.
With the result, Timmins improved to 16-9-1-0 on the season while Elliot Lake slipped to 9-15-0-2.
