BLIND RIVER, ON – The Blind River Beavers continued their dominance over the Elliot Lake Vikings by defeating them 8-2 at the Blind River Community Centre on Saturday night.
The one-sided victory comes 24 hours after a Beavers 8-1 win over the Vikings in Massey on Friday night.
Clark Furman scored twice to lead the Beavers offence in the home victory.
Mason Morden contributed one goal and two assists while Adam Prax finished with three assists.
Hardworking Beavers forward Jacob Beemer opened the scoring at 5:14 of the first.
Gavin McLenaghan squared things up for the Vikings at 8:24.
Morden scored a power play marker for the eventual game winner at 14:38. Furman netted his first of the game less than a minute later to give the Beavers a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes.
The Beavers added three more in a span of just over five minutes as Josh Thompson, Owen Arnold and Cameron Menard increased the lead to 6-1.
Nathan Marincola got one back for the Vikings at 14:57 of the second frame.
The Beavers added two more in the final period courtesy of Furman and Nolan Barker to round out the Beavers scoring.
With the home win the Beavers improve to 35-10. The Vikings sink to 5-31-1-4.
