MASSEY, ON – Matthew Campanella had a goal and one assist to pace the visiting Blind River Beavers to a 6-2 road win over the Elliot Lake Vikings on Saturday night.
Jesse Dupuis and Wyatt Gibson scored goals 90 seconds apart to get the visitors on the board early for the 2-0 Beavers lead just over 2 minutes in.
It stayed that way until late in the first when the Vikings Gavin McLenaghan netted his 15th which made it 2-1 after 20 minutes.
The Beavers added to the lead early in the second when Owen Arnold scored his second of the season 1:23 into the middle frame.
Matthew Campanella fired home his 6th near the midway point of the second for a 4-1 Beavers lead.
Daniel Vasic made it 5-1 with his 22nd of the season.
Brendan Cooke cashed in his 10th of the season on a power play just after the 17 minute mark for the visiting Beavers.
Gabriel Manseau added a power play goal for the Vikings early in the third but that’s as close as the Vikings got.
The Beavers improved to 33-10 on the year while the Vikings dropped to 5-28-1-4.
